Finally… an update!

The beginning of the West End 3k… on my way to 1st place!

A few weeks back after only 3 hard workouts and a few weeks of training, I was able to pull off a win at the 2012 West End 3k.  There was great competition that pushed me to a  PR of 9:57:96!  The crowds were awesome and it was great to compete again after a five week layoff caused by an inflammed SI that I sustained moving of all things!

August 5th in Evergreen, Colorado I had more great ladies pushing me to a PR in the 10k (33:59)!  After an interval workout the day before and being diagnosed with bronchitis and a sinus infection on Friday, I was able to race to 2nd.  I ran the entire race with a great competititor, Brianne Nelson, who took 1st place (33:52).  It was a great race and the Colorado 10k State Championship.  A fast downhill course at 7,600 feet, what’s not to love?

Melissa Todd (3rd), Patrick Rizzo (2nd), and myself (2nd) representing Mizuno at the USATF Colorado 10k Champs!

Back to watching the Olympics and getting a short nap before going out for another run… until next time…
