December 8th, I ran the California International Marathon.  It was the same marathon that I broke my foot in last year, a total fluke!  Not only was I able to run a three minute PR on what I consider an “off” day, I also finished healthy.  This was a big deal to me after the blow I incurred last year after tweaking my foot on a road reflector.  Yesterday I was scheduled for a follow-up x-ray on the base of my 5th metatarsal.   The x-rays showed Dr. Shank at the Colorado Center for Orthopedic Excellence, that there was no longer any signs of a break in that area and no need for anymore follow-up x-rays!

A California vacation post-race provided some good down time and now I’m ready to get back at it!

I’m thankful to my sponsors: Brooks, First Endurance and Nuun for their continued support in 2014!

Until next time…
