Many things to be grateful for, day 12:

Today is day twelve and each day I’ve been doing this, I have been able to think of more than one thing or person I’m grateful for each day.  Some days are be more obvious while other days I have to quietly sit for a few minutes and ponder what it is I’m truly grateful for.  Life is a journey, whether things are going smooth or you are riding a rocky road.  It’s easy when things are going well to coast through life but the trying times are the times that truly shape who we are, test our limits and challenge us to be at our best when it’s hard to put one foot in front of the other.  Today I’m going to list the many things I feel grateful for at this moment, because there are so many.

Today I am grateful that I was able to do a 90 minute moderate spin workout, working up a sweat in the process.  Nothing is more cleansing for the body and the soul than a good sweat!

I’m grateful for biographies that inspire me and help me persevere when things are tough.  Right now I’m reading, “Zero Regrets” by Apolo Ohno and it reminds me that anyone who has ever succeeded in life had a rocky road to get there.  Every successful person has their own story.  I’m shaping mine and while it’s scary, it’s also exciting.

I’m grateful for my amazing support system, which, includes family, friends, physical therapists, massage therapists, a chiropractor, a sport psychologist, a pilates instructor and a few more!

I’m grateful for my amazing and loyal husband who works hard to provide for our future, who believes in me, supports me and loves me no matter what!  He’s caring, kind, loyal, humble, giving and always knows how to make me smile (and laugh)!

I’m grateful for the robin who’s built a nest in one of our “rescued” trees (it was a snow damaged tree that we rescued from the nursery and brought back to life).  The robin has since built her nest and has been sitting on her eggs for a few days now.  It’s fun to watch her and reminds us how beautiful the little things in life are.

I’m grateful for getting to spend time with my “little sister” today.  I’ve known her since she was born and am lucky that I still get to be her babysitter (or kid sitter as she likes to say, since she’s not a baby anymore).  I feel blessed to have known this beautiful family for almost 8 years now and love them like they are my own family!

Today I’m grateful for all these things and more.  I hope you take time today, whether it’s a good day or a not so good day, to count your blessings and remember the things in life that are truly important to you.

Until tomorrow…
